Core has the ability to store a wide range of biosamples in our state of the art GLP compliant facility. All storage requests are reviewed in accordance with our acceptance policies. NO INFECTIOUS OR POSITIVE SAMPLES ARE PERMITTED.

Samples are primarily stored in Chart MVE cryogenic freezers at -190⁰C liquid nitrogen vapour phase.

Core Cryolab’s biorepository was designed and built to provide the highest level of sample security and safety. Our facility operates the highest quality equipment available on the market today. The facility is connected to the Hospital’s emergency backup power systems for the ultimate protection during a power outage.
Our cryogenic freezers are chilled using liquid nitrogen and Core maintains a minimum supply of 4 week worth of nitrogen on site. Real-time temperature tracking is monitored by a dual redundant 24/7 monitoring system. Local and remote alarm monitoring and video surveillance combined with high security access restrictions, provides a reassuring level of security.
No. All client samples are stored at the box level therefore all information related to the vial/patient are retained with the client, maintaining ultimate confidentiality.
Core offers a range of storage options designed to suit client needs. We’ve had clients store samples for a little as a few weeks, while others have entrusted their samples with us for over a decade. Some of our current storage contracts are for over 30 years.

We are able to facilitate any type of access to your samples. We have clients that make deposits and withdrawals on a daily basis and others that store at Core as a secure backup for vital cell lines and rarely need to access their samples. Additionally, our global shipping service allows clients with an international footprint to easily make deposits and withdrawals to almost anywhere in the world.
Yes. Core stores samples based on cell type. All animal cell lines are stored in their own dedicated freezers.

Core is IATA compliant. All shipping staff is Safe-T-Pak trained. We follow stringent cold chain management protocols along the entire process, from the time of pick up of your samples throughout transportation to receipt and accessioning of those samples at the biorepository facility. Continuous monitoring and logging of the environmental conditions within the vapour shipper are recorded and maintained.
